"Bridge is a Timed Event"
Get more functionality than large, expensive clocks at a fraction of the cost!
Bridge
Game Timer is a Windows PC application that assists a Bridge Director in
running a duplicate bridge game by visually tracking the time for each round
and automatically reminding players and directors of Round Changes, Skips, and
Hospitality Breaks. It keeps the game
moving! Its many features include:
Second-by-Second Time Display - Bridge Game Timer displays the time remaining in
each round to the nearest second; players (and directors!) tend to be more
aware of time and more concerned about time when they see it ticking away
second-by-second!
Restart Rounds - If all or most of the
players are a little slow in beginning a round, you can restart the round,
essentially adding a little bit of time to the prior round. Alternatively, if everyone is moving along
quickly, you can advance the timer to the next round.
SKIP Reminder - You can have Bridge Game Timer
remind you to call a SKIP after a specified round.
Hospitality Breaks - You can schedule 1 or 2
Hospitality Breaks and specify the amount of time to be automatically added to
the prior round. Bridge Game Timer
reminds you to announce the Hospitality Break(s) during the round you specify.
Multiple, Simultaneous Timers - You can
execute Bridge Game Timer multiple times to set up different
events/sections. You can enter the event
name and section letter to keep track of the multiple Timers with different
settings.
Operates under
Windows - Each Timer runs in its own window, so you can
run other applications (like ACBLScore) in their own windows.
Setting and Saving Timer Settings - You can set values for Game Start Time,
Number of Rounds, Minutes Per Round, Skip Reminder, and Hospitality
Breaks. You can customize the program by
setting and saving your own default values for each of these Timer Settings.
Audio Alerts - Bridge Game Timer optionally
plays three different sounds: (1) a three minute "warning" before the end of
each round, (2) at the end of each round, or (3) when it displays an "Announcement Reminder" (at the starrt of the game, when it changes rounds, when to make a Skip or Hospitality announcement, etc.). These
sounds can be individually toggled on/off.
The sound files distributed with the program can be changed to other
sound files installed on your computer (many are distributed as part of the
Windows operating system).
Context Sensitive Help - You can get specific Help on every screen by just
pressing the F1 key. Tips are
automatically displayed whenever the mouse passes over a control. The
entire User's Guide is written in HTML and is entirely on-line, so there's no book to
misplace. A Help menu provides access to
the User's Guide via the Table of Contents, an alphabetical index, and a
keyword search.
