This lesson series is for
intermediate players who want to learn the basic strategies and rules for
playing duplicate bridge. Duplicate
bridge removes much of the "luck"
associated with other forms of bridge scoring, where the partnership with the
greater number of high cards usually wins.
In duplicate bridge, each partnership has an equal chance to win (or
lose) each board, regardless of the number of "points" they hold!
Each session starts with a short
lesson about duplicate strategy, followed by an abbreviated duplicate
game. After the game, the class and
instructor will review the results, congratulate the winners (who earn ACBL
Masterpoints!), and conduct a question and answer session.
